Welcome

Communication in all forms is a powerful way to connect to others and the community around you. We at CCNW believe speech and language therapy should help children, teens, and adults build those connections. Speech and language therapy should meet a client and family to help them connect with others.

Communication happens everywhere-- not just at a therapy table. We believe communication goals can be addressed in a clinic, at home, and in the community. We develop treatment strategies with this in mind.  We work with children, teens and adults with Autism Spectrum Disorders, Communication Disorders, and executive function deficits to build those connections through communication.

KIND WORDS FROM OUR CLIENTS

Marilea has been working with my 7-year-old son for almost two years. During that time, I have seen a great improvement in his communication skills. The thing that sets Marilea apart from the other therapists we have seen, is her experience.

She really understands kids on the spectrum. She has a built a great rapport with our son and has been able to push him more than other therapists. Her play-based approach has been very effective. She doesn’t simply treat speech delays but sees the whole child.

She has great ideas for working on behavior challenges as well. I cannot recommend her more highly.

Marilea’s positive attitude and genuine love for helping people of all abilities make her stand out from the rest. We were lucky to have her as our child’s SLP for many years.

Marilea always had such an intuitive way of knowing what to work on to help my child overcome their communication struggles and always made sure to accommodate our child in any way needed in order to make each session comfortable and fruitful. over

Did I mention she is also so much fun!

It must be said that Marilea communicates beautifully with parents and she is always trying to help with parent concerns. She listens and works well with parents on coming up with a collaborative treatment plan for the child.  Our family loved this about her.  The bond she was able to create with our child is something we are very thankful for.She helped our child make great strides and learn that there are many ways to communicate including via typing.  Our child loved this discovery.

We miss her dearly, but happy others will now get to experience her magic.

Father and Children

We are the parents of two autistic children with individual needs and levels of service requirements. We were lucky to find Marilea Brock who has made a difference in both our children's lives.

Our children are six years apart in age and Marilea has the capacity to reach them both. Our son being very young and not being able to remain seated while participating in conversation and our daughter not participating at all.

Marilea has been able to apply he knowledge and patience to help both of our children improve in areas of socialization, eye contact, being able to express their feelings, and participate in one-on-one conversations as well as group interactions.

Marilea is a true professional with a sincere interest in improving the lives of her clients.
